Employer Mandated Exercise Stress Test
|
|
The Board of Trustees has agreed to cover the cost related to clearance of positive exercise stress tests. This clearance for the most part was a visit with a cardiologist for which an affected employee may have been charged a $30 office co-pay. In a small number of cases it may have required more testing by the cardiology office, such as a nuclear or other type of stress test, and in the very rare case even cardiac catheterization.
Going forward we will try to make arraignments with the cardiologist to bill the Fund directly for any balance bills and in cases where we cannot make prior arraignments we will reimburse the employee for any out of pocket costs.
If you incurred a cost during last year’s physicals with reference to clearance for a positive exercise stress test please contact Mike Sedgwick by email at masedgwick@myffbenefits.com or at the office 561-969-6663.
As a reminder stress tests are only required every 3 years unless medically indicated or you are a member of the Special Operations Team.
Any questions about this information or any of your Employee Benefits related issues please feel free to contact Mike Sedgwick.
